He holds a degree and PhD in Physics by the Valladolid University. His entire scientific career has been made at the Industrial Automation Institute-CSIC which has recently become the Automation and Robotics Institute. This Institute now depends on both the CSIC and Madrid Polytechnic University where he set up its Robotics research filed.
He has been Deputy Director of the Automation and Robotics Institute, together with Automation and Technology Production of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He has also been Director of the Technology Transfer Office and of the CSIC’s Department of Postgraduate studies and Specialization. He has participated in the set up of the Robotics Spanish Association. His current work is strategic planning in Science and Technology and coordination between researchers and companies for the social boost of scientific research and creation of wealth.
He holds a PhD is Physics by the Autónoma University in Madrid. He is a researcher at the Institute of Material Sciences in Madrid and a member of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). He has worked on the modeling and desk review on different properties of metal surfaces, clusters, metal nanowires, carbone nanotubes, virus, light propagation through nanostructures, etc.
From 200o to 2004 he was the coordinator of the NANOSCIENCE network and did the same at NANOSPAIN network from 2000 to 2005. Since 2007 he has been the co-manager of Strategic Action of Nanosience and Nanotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. In 2008, he was appointed as a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Madrid Scientific Park. He has actively participated in information dissemination, outstanding in his activity as a co-organiser of International contest “Images of the Nanoworld” (Issues SMPAGE07 and SMPAGE 09) and as a commissioner of exhibitions “Insights into the nanoworld”(2007-2010) and “A walk around the nanoworld” (2011-). He is co-author of the Educational Unit of Nanotechnology (FECYT) and writer of the book “What do we know about nanotechnology? (La Catarat, 2010). Since 2011 he has been a scientific advisor of the Iberoamerican Network for Dissemination and Training in nanoscience and Nanotechnology, funded by CYTED.
PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from Politecnica University of Madrid. His professional career has developed in the National Aerospace Technical Institute (INTA), first in the Department of Materials and Structures, where he collaborated in developing antennas, mechanisms, robotics and space instrumentation. Later he went to the Astrobiology Centre (CSIC-INTA), where he became the responsible of the Instrumentation Department, then the Vicemanager and since 2011, the manager of the Centre. When he was at the CAB he participated in different projects on instrumentation development to space exploration. It is worth mentioning the environmental station called REMS for Curiosity rover, which is currently operating in Mars and where he is the main researcher. He has been awarded with the NASA Outstanding Public Leadership Medal and the Order of Aeronautical Merit.
PhD in molecular biology from Autónoma University of Madrid and Senior scientist at Carlos III Health Institute. Currently, he, Dr Amparo Vivo Rodriguez and Dr Fernanid Ginzalez Camacho, are part of the Electron and Confocal Microscopy Unit of the Microbiology National Centre (CNM). The group focuses its work on the application of combined electron and confocal microscopy techniques to understand the pathogenic mechanisms in microbiology-related diseases, like diagnosis of infections caused mostly by virus and as well as those caused by non-conventional agents.

Senior Scientist at the Spanish National Institute for Agriculture and Food Research and Technology (INIA). Currently Director of the Food Technology Department of the INIA. Secretary of the Food Microbiology Division of the Spanish Society of Microbiology. She stared her research work in the Department of post-recollection of the Valencia Institute of Agriculture Research and later she has continued in the Food Technology Department of the INIA, Department of Molecular Microbiology of the University of Groningen (Low Countries), Department of Biochemistry of the University of Amsterdam (Low Countries) and Food Technology Department of INIA. Her current research lines are focused on areas related to Technology and Quality of dairy and meat products and characterisation of lactic bacteria.
Aeronautical Engineer from Polytechnic University of Madrid. He has worked in CIEMAT since 1987, mainly in the field of wind power. He is current Director of the Renewable Energies Division. His career has developed in the public sector in I+D Centres in Energy, with some works in the private sector as the Director of the Wind Power Department of a promoter of wind farms and Technical Director of the Nationak Centre of Renewal Energies (CENER). He is the Spanish representative of the Executive Committee of I+D in the Wind Power International Agency and in the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). Expert of the work group on Energy of the ESFRI (European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures), as well as a member of the Energy commission of CESEDEN.
He holds a PhD in Biology by Universidad de León. Degree in Veterinary medicine by the Complutense University in Madrid and is a principal investigator at the Biotechnology Department at the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) in Madrid, where he researches on influenza pathogenesis and vaccine development against this disease.
Researcher at the National Aerospace Technical Institute (INTA). He currently runs the Image Management Laboratory of INTA's Remote Sensing Area. Degree in Agriculture Engineering from Politecnica University, Madrid. He carried out several postgraduate studies on Edaphology and Remote Sensing. He has been working on Earth observation since 1992, always at INTA. He has specialized in defining and implementation of image processing systems and distribution of remote sensing images (PAFs), obtained both from aerospace platforms and satellites. Also in charge of geometric, radiometric and spectral calibration of the images. Among his current responsibilities are the management of PAF's remote sensing area at INTA and defining and validation of scientific algorithms for the future Spanish satellite for Earth Observation (SEOSAT/Ingenio).
She holds a PhD in Biology by the Autónoma University in Madrid. She leads the Institute on Biomass, Renewable Energy Division at the Energy, Technological and Environmental Research Centre. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBIOT) and the Association for the extension of Biomass in Spain (ADABE).
He holds a PhD in Biology by the Complutense University in Madrid. His scientific career has been made at Fundación Jimenez Díaz, the Biomedical Research Institute (CSIC) and the Carlos III Health Institute, where he currently leads the Childhood Solid Tumors Unit. His research field is focused on molecular basis of childhood cancer and the use of new technologies, such as massive sequencing to genetic diagnose of disease.
